The film is a black and white period drama set in the 1950's, and is approximately 20 minutes in length. Of that, probably 16-17 will feature scored music. I'm looking for a well-composed score in the style of 1950's Hollywood, specifically in a Hitchcock/Herrmann (Vertigo, Psycho) or film noir style. The more authentic and appropriate to the period (as far as composition, choice of instruments, and production), the better. I want a score that will reinforce and amplify the moods and actions in the scenes, while helping to create a cohesive and authentic feel of a 1950's film. The tones/moods of the film vary from sad/delicate, to dramatic, to mysterious (and possibly tense/scary).
This is a low budget/self-financed project, but compensation is negotiable.
If interested, please email me with links to your music/website, preferably to work that is pertinent to what I described above. For this project, I'm only interested in hearing from composers who can write and produce a 1950's period-authentic score, so please only respond if this is your area of ability and interest.
Thanks so much!
